With 16 offices across the Charlotte, North Carolina area, Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center has provided life-changing allergy treatment and care to its patients for more than 70 years. CFO Rob Ellis joined the company as a full-time employee five years ago after consulting at the Center for about eight years. The Challenge

Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center faced challenges with a paper-based invoice approval process that offered limited visibility and led to operational inefficiencies and payment delays. Managers manually handled invoices and often held onto them too long, resulting in bulk submissions that strained their accounting system. Check runs were time-consuming, and the company experienced incidents of check fraud. With up to 800 invoices and 300 checks processed each month, Ellis recognized the urgent need for a more efficient and secure solution.
