Jerome’s family-run furniture business has been serving the Southern California region for 66 years with 14 showrooms and 10 dream shops. Although COVID forced it to temporarily close down its retail locations, a dramatic increase in demand from people staying at home led to explosive growth.
Jerome’s marketing team quickly pivoted their messaging and outreach to focus on the safety of their community while at the same time ensuring business continuity.
Jerome’s in-house media and finance teams spent countless hours managing the different payment acceptance types across their media suppliers. Between checks, ACH, wires and credit cards, there was a lot to manage. Visibility across credit card acceptors was also an issue as the finance team would mark something as paid, but the vendor may have not yet charged the card.
On top of that, many vendors decided they no longer wanted to receive checks during COVID. The already lean team spent significant time fielding inquiries from suppliers on the status of payments.
