AvidXchange Foundation gears up for 15th year with a look back at 2019 impact

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Dec. 5, 2019) – AvidXchange, a leading provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for the middle market, today announces its annual AvidXchange Foundation impact. Committed to making a difference in the lives of youth in the cities where AvidXchange teammates work and live, the AvidXchange Foundation supported more than 150 philanthropic events across seven locations in 2019, focusing on programs in STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and math). Ranging from Junior Achievement to the InTech Foundation, more than 750 volunteers clocked 2,500 hours with local non-profits and charitable organizations as part of this year’s AvidXchange Foundation efforts.

“The AvidXchange Foundation was founded in 2005 in response to helping elementary school children impacted by hurricane Katrina and has since continued to grow and positively influence the youth in our communities” said Michael Praeger, CEO & Co-founder of AvidXchange. “The needs in our cities are great and the organizations working to address those needs are many, but often times individuals aren’t sure how to get involved, so providing a means to do so and seeing teammates take advantage is extremely rewarding.”

AvidXchange empowers teammates to get involved throughout the year whether opportunities are provided by the AvidXchange Foundation or other causes individuals wish to support. Teammates are given paid time off for volunteering and encouraged to use it with the organization of their choice, helping them to get involved and fostering the company’s ability to remain a great place to work.

“With more than 1,300 employees across the U.S., the opportunity we have to make a difference in our communities is significant and continues to grow as AvidXchange grows, too,” said Rob Phocas, who joined AvidXchange as the company’s first director of corporate social responsibility earlier this year.

Just recently, AvidXchange has partnered with Share Charlotte to activate the global Giving Tuesday movement in the Charlotte community by supporting nonprofits in Mecklenburg County. Local and regional nonprofit organizations that the AvidXchange Foundation supports include Ronald McDonald House Charities, EmpowHERment, Inc., Classroom Central, E2D, InTech Scholars, Junior Achievement, The Children’s Theatre Charlotte, and the Charlotte Housing Authority Scholarship Fund.
